We share data only with the essential service providers listed below (Stripe, Resend, Beehiiv). You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected].

SmarterContext provides AI context optimization tools and frameworks designed to improve the quality of outputs from AI models.
2. What We Collect
Account Information
- Name and email address (provided at signup)
- Password (stored as a one-way hash — never in plaintext)
- Subscription tier and billing status
Payment Information
Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We store only a tokenized reference to your payment method — not full card numbers, CVV codes, or bank details. Stripe retains payment data under their own privacy policy.
Usage Data
- Templates viewed, saved, or applied
- Feature interactions and session activity
- Subscription events (upgrades, cancellations, trial conversions)
Technical Data
- IP address and approximate geolocation (country/region)
- Browser type, OS, and device type
- Referring URL and pages visited
- Access timestamps
User-Provided Content
Any context, prompts, or text you input while using the Service ("User Content"). This data belongs to you and is used only to deliver the Service.
Communications
Emails or messages you send to our support team, including subject, body, and timestamps.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and subscription
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Deliver and improve the Service
- Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, subscription notices)

5. Data Selling & Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not sell, rent, broker, or auction your personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or any other third parties for their own commercial purposes. Period.
We may share data in limited circumstances:
- Service providers: As described in Section 4, only for delivering the Service.
- Legal compliance: If required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
- Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all assets, your data may transfer to the successor entity. We will notify you before that occurs.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to fulfill legal obligations and resolve disputes.
- Account data: Retained while your account is active; deleted within 90 days of a verified deletion request.
- Payment records: Retained for 7 years for tax and audit purposes (required by law).
- Usage logs: Retained for up to 24 months, then aggregated or deleted.
- Support communications: Retained for 3 years for quality and legal purposes.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Encryption of sensitive data at rest
- One-way hashing for passwords
- Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel
- Regular security reviews
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable protections, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
9. GDPR Rights (EU / UK Residents)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

10. CCPA Rights (California Residents)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to:

- Delete: Request deletion of personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
- Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
